This summer we are taking an experienced group of male* backpackers on a 7 day adventure on the world-famous West Coast Trail.
We will leave camp at 6pm on Aug. 25 (Saturday) and drive through the night. This will get us to the ferry terminal early in the morning and we will have plenty of time to reach the trailhead orientation at 2pm and start our hike at 3:30pm. Trail takes 5-7 days, so we are planning to “emerge” on Sept. 1 (Saturday), take a shuttle back to where we parked our van and catch an evening ferry to the mainland. We will pick a low cost campsite to crash at and then drive to Edmonton on Sept. 2 (Sunday), leaving the Monday holiday to recover before school starts on Tuesday.
The trail includes “wading rivers, climbing ladders, using cable cars, following an irregular trail, negotiating steep slopes and earth slumps”…Totally epic with the added challenge of coordinating with tide charts!

* Are you a female interested in participating in an LPC Backpacking trip? We need a critical number of interested female campers before we can offer a female backpacking trip ($335) and we would love to hear from you! We’d also be happy to discuss if you are interested in a 2019 female West Coast Trail trip.
