OUR STAFF

Did you know that our camper fees only cover a portion of our operating costs?  Help us hire quality summer staff by donating towards our Staff Support Fund.

Executive Director – Andrew Dreger

My wife Sarah and I are the proud parents of 3 boys who keep us busy, humble and smiling…Most of the time! It was a bit surreal to have them attend LPC as campers for the first time in 2021!

I have served at Lone Prairie Camp every year since 2002 in a wide variety of roles including CLT, Support Staff, Maintenance, Cabin Leader, Boat Driver, “Special Projects” and Program Director. Throughout all my other commitments, the ministry of Lone Prairie Camp has captured my being again and again. I accepted the role of Camp Director in 2012 and consider it a huge honour to serve in this position.

I have been actively involved at Ellerslie Road Baptist Church since High School and have assisted in various capacities including youth sponsoring, teaching Sunday School and ushering.  Between my first and second years of university, I had the privilege of serving street children with ACTION Zambia and ACTION Uganda and then graduated from the University of Alberta in 2010 with a Bachelor in Engineering Physics. Since then, I have completed my Masters of Divinity degree through The Canadian Baptist Seminary (CBS, part of ACTS) and continue to pursue formal education.

Camp Administrator – Sarah Dreger

My husband Andrew and I met at LPC in Summer 2008 while I was serving as one of the summer speakers. We have had the privilege of growing our family at LPC and now have 3 boys who can’t help but call LPC and the LPC community home.

I have served at Lone Prairie Camp every year since 2008 in a wide variety of roles including Speaker, Support staff, Cabin Leader, Kitchen Coordinator, Camp Administrator, CLT Leader and more. It is a great privilege to have served so many families as they experience camp year after year.

I grew up in Mississauga Ontario where I had the opportunity to attend camp since I was 5 years old. Since then I have been involved in serving at many different camps in many different ministry structures and with many different roles. I have served at day camps, overnight camps, and summer retreat camps throughout Ontario. Once I moved to Alberta in 2007 I have had the privilege of serving solely at Lone Prairie Camp.

I have been actively involved at Ellerslie Road Baptist Church since 2011 and have assisted in various capacities including youth sponsoring, teaching Sunday School and serving in their Ladies Morning Out program. I graduated from Providence University College and Theological Seminary in 2007 with a BA in Youth and Children’s ministry which has helped me serve as a Youth Pastor, Children’s Pastor, and in my many activities here at Lone Prairie Camp.

Summer Team

Check back next summer for details. This list does not include the many wonderful volunteers who join us each summer to serve for a few specific weeks.

Interim Camp Director- Evelyn Yang

I am so grateful to be a part of Lone Prairie Camp again this year. God has been a faithful Provider and Shepherd, throughout the off-season and into the summer! I attend Good Shepherd Chinese Lutheran Church weekly and have just started teaching at an elementary school in Edmonton. This is my sixth full summer at LPC and I am excited to see what God has in store for us.

Program Director- Carl Chu

I am hyped to be at Lone Prairie Camp this summer! I love camp because of the stories that take place here, which I get to be in! A lot of them are stupid funny, a few I remember with great pride, and almost all of them are about God meeting us. He meets campers for the first time and he meets older staff for the hundredth time, this time a little more fully. I find it overwhelmingly worth it to be able to witness these stories, and I recount them often. At camp we anticipate and expect God to show up and change lives. Because he does. Every day. Most days it’s me. A lady I met at church once prayed that God would ‘bless my socks off’. I am glad she did, because at camp that is a well answered prayer.

First Aid Attendant- Alisia Xu

Rec Director- Tavia Siemens

God has been so faithful over the past year, and I’m incredibly thankful to be back at Lone Prairie Camp! This summer, I’ll be serving as the Recreation Director before beginning the Respiratory Therapy program at SAIT this fall. I love spending time with my family, playing soccer, painting, being outdoors, and taking my dog on adventures. It is such a privilege to serve alongside an amazing staff team and help create a place where campers can have fun, build friendships, and grow in their relationship with Christ. I can’t wait to see all that God has in store this summer!

Media Coordinator- Erik Pellegrino

I have been going to LPC since I was very young, I have met Jesus there and he has taught me so much about what it means to live a life of faith. The community of believers at LPC is such a blessing. I am so excited for the ways Jesus will use me this summer, as I am molded more to his image and can better serve those around me.

Facility Manager– Stian Pellegrino

I am a 18 year old high school and bible school graduate and I am enrolled physics at UofA this upcoming year. I love to play soccer bike and snowboard. I attend St. Johns the Evangelist and have gone there since I was born. Lone Prairie Camp has been a large part of my life as I have been going since the first year of squirt camp. Lone Prairie Camp has always been an amazing place for me to go and make friends or to grow in my relationship with God. This year I hope to make camp as great for the campers as it was for me so that they can have as life changing of an experience as I have had.
